Our Mechanic/fabricator and wizard of all things that can be repaired will be retiring (after 23 plus years with us). We have a diverse portfolio of vehicles/ equipment and tools ranging from a 40' end dump & tractor, to 26GVW dump trucks, to a dozen or so pickups, Spray foam rigs, specialized roofing & coating equipment all the way to handheld gas and electric tools. No two days are alike. If this sounds like you, our departing mechanic will provide on the job training and will pass on to you his years of knowledge and experience that gives you the upper hand on our diverse portfolio of equipment.
JOB DUTIES: Responsible for servicing all company equipment, including performing preventive maintenance Maintains and reviews lubrication reports and service records and performs oil, lube and filter service on all equipment. Inspects equipment. Performs duties safely, responsibly and proficiently. Maintains good housekeeping practices in parts and shop area. Welding experience preferred but willing to coach and train. Performs a variety of duties as in addition to those described. Will work outdoors and could be exposed to varying weather conditions (i.e., heat, wet, cold, etc). May work in precarious places or cramped work space that requires getting into awkward positions.
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS: Must be able to organize and prioritize time and projects in order of importance. Possess good mechanical and welding (willing to work on this) skills. Must have good eyesight, manual dexterity, and hand eye coordination. Must be able to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods of time; grip, climb, reach, squat, crawl, or pull, push, as well as, bend and lift up to 45 pounds. Able to work overtime (if required for breakdowns) and flexible work schedule. Must be able to speak, read, and have a working knowledge of the English language. Language and math as needed to read technical manuals, record keeping on report forms, operate machinery, and perform other tasks. Must be able to perform preventative maintenance repairs in accordance with established procedures. Must have basic mechanic and hand tools. All specialized equipment and large tools are provided.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE: High School Diploma/GED or an equivalent combination of training and work experience. Valid California driver's license (A or B desired) but not a deal breaker.
