Welding Instructor
Be part of a great team! Idaho State University's College of Technology is seeking a Welding Instructor.
Primary Purpose
To teach related classses (e.g., math, mech drawing, metallurgy, or layout) and provide hands-on instruction in SMAW, GTAW, GMAW, and FCAW.
Key Responsibilities
1) Provide safe plate and pipe welding instruction = 70%
2) Prepare for and deliver related classroom instruction = 20%
3) Support recruiting operations = 5%
4) Student placement = 5%
Minimum Qualifications
1) At least eight (8) years of recent and relevant pipe welding experience at the ASME level OR or a bachelor's degree and three (3) years recent and relevant pipe welding experience.
2) Provide SMAW, GTAW, FCAW, and GMAW instruction.
3) Must be able to apply for and obtain certification through Idaho Division of Career Technical Education, see link for details: https://cte.idaho.gov/
4) Candidates will be given a weld test consisting of GTAW, GMAW, and SMAW weld processes prior to any offer of employment.
Preferred Qualifications
-Teaching experience at the post-secondary level
-Certified Welding Inspector credentials
