Speech/Language Pathologist: Permanent position beginning with the 2019-2020 school year, 1.0 FTE, Annual Salary $48,407 - $62,000, depending on experience; commensurate health insurance and benefits package.
Essential Job Functions:
. Provide or direct the provision of speech and/or language therapy and services to identified students with communication disorders.
. Assist education staff in observing and referring students with suspected communication disorders.
. Provide screening, testing, and comprehensive assessment to identify students with communication disorders.
. Participate as a specialist of communication disorders in determining eligibility.
. Prepare and implement Individualized Education Programs for identified students on caseload, in consultation with the Special Education Director.
. Participate in developing integrated goals with other education staff for students with multiple or other disabilities.
. Serve as a resource and consultant to provide specialized suggestions and/or materials for use by regular classroom staff or parents in the delivery of speech/language services or generalizations of previously acquired skills.
. Compile and maintain required records and documentation as case manager for assigned students with communication disorders. Maintain service records and supply other documentation to case manager for other students on caseload.
. Supervise, evaluate, and discipline the Speech Pathology Assistant and support personnel who assist in delivery of speech services within the District. The Speech Pathologist shall have the authority to recommend employees for hire and for dismissal within the Speech Pathology Department.
. Function as the first level for processing grievances within the cadre of employees within the speech pathology department.
. Perform Medicaid billing and reporting for qualified students.

Vocational/Educational preparation requirements/qualifications:
Master’s Degree Licensure by the Board of Examiners in Speech/Language Pathology Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech and Language Pathology issued by The American Speech-Language Hearing Association (ASHA)
