(Full-time)
General Requirements:
Candidates at the time of application must: (1) Possess a diploma from an accredited high school or a graduate equivalency diploma (GED); (2) Must have successfully completed PA Act 120 training or its equivalent police training in another state and be in compliance with Pennsylvania Municipal Police Officers Education Commission (MPOETC) requirements, (3) Be a United States Citizen; (4) Be physically and mentally fit to perform the full duties of a police officer; (5) Be at least twenty-one (21) years of age; and (6) possess a valid motor vehicle operator’s license.
Successful applicants must also meet all the requirements of the city’s hiring policy that includes a background investigation, and if selected, be required to successfully pass a physical and psychological examination.
An application packet may be obtained at the city hall, located at 12 South Second Street, Duquesne, PA 15110 or you may request an electronic copy via email at police@duquesnepa.us The completed application, with a $25.00 non-refundable application fee, must be filed before 3:00 PM on Friday, January 17, 2020 at city hall.
The physical agility test will be conducted at the Allegheny County Police Academy, located at 700 West Ridge Drive (North Park) - Allison Park, PA 15101 on Tuesday, January 21, 2020, starting at 10:00 AM. The written test will be held immediately after the agility testing at the Police Academy.
