Leadworker – Adams Mechanic Shop

Ada County Highway District is now accepting applications for a Leadworker in the Adams Mechanic shop of the Maintenance Division. This is a full-time non-exempt position, and the starting wage is $26.00 to $29.90 per hour, DOQ. Primary Responsibilities: • Under general supervision, the Leadworker will perform a wide variety of skilled maintenance functions, such as coordinate shop activities, create, prioritize, and monitor work orders, parts ordering and maintain necessary inventory, quality control on repairs, etc. • The Leadworker also assists with the direction of work for the crew and acts as Crew Chief as required. • The incumbent must be available respond to emergency call out, as required on a 24-hour basis.

Qualifications: • Applicants must possess strong leadership skills with the ability to work independently in directing a crew to accomplish District maintenance activities. • The successful candidate must supply their own basic mechanic tool set. • The successful candidate must have previous supervisory experience, heavy and light duty equipment maintenance and repair, and the ability to test drive the equipment associated with the performance of assigned tasks. • Idaho Class “A” CDL is required, and ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) Certifications are preferred. • OR Any combination of education and experience, which demonstrates competence in the knowledge and abilities for the position, may be acceptable.
