Assistant Traffic Engineer / Traffic Engineer

Applications are now being accepted for an Assistant Traffic Engineer / Traffic Engineer in the Planning Review Section of the Development Services Department. This is a fulltime, exempt position with a starting salary dependent on qualifications. Primary Responsibilities: • The Traffic Engineer is tasked with the coordination and review of traffic impact studies for new development. • Review large and/or complicated development applications for compliance with ACHD’s policies and standards; including preparation of staff reports for the ACHD Board of Commissioners and may include technical presentations to the Commission. • Provides technical guidance to the Development and Engineering communities, as well as ACHD staff. • Other duties as assigned that benefit the department.

Qualifications: • The successful candidate must have comprehensive knowledge of traffic impact studies, traffic engineering and planning principles and practices. • Must possess an Idaho Professional Engineering (PE) license, or the ability to obtain within one year. Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Traffic Engineering or a related Engineering field is required; OR any equivalent combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. • Any combination of education and experience, which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities, is acceptable.
